I'm back
The past 3 months have been pretty dry for me. Literally dry. I haven't been surfing in nearly 3 months and I haven't shot water in over a year. I started getting back in the water last week with my roommate Bryce and my friend Dom. If you're in San Diego, then you know what kind of weather we've been having. It's been really warm and clear. I've really been trying to slow down, shoot less sequences, and focus more on what the water around me is doing. These shots are from a day at Beach Ave and a couple days at Blacks. It actually looks a lot better than it was. Yesterday was the most crowded I've ever seen Blacks and I almost got ran over 5 times. Must be the spot to go when it's under head high.
Brahhhh
The last week in California has been amazing for shooting. The weather has been in the high 70's and the wind has been in our favor. The swell was kinda hyped (as they always are) but I still managed to get some cool water shots. I'll post some in the near future. Here's to Eric Warner's favorite hand gesture...
A Day With Taya
Here is a video I just had finished of Taya Rogers from my last trip up to LA. Besides modeling and acting, baking is one of her favorite things to do and she is incredible at it. This day we were actually trying to get 2 clips done, one being a city walk, and the other, a baking video. Things didn't work out as I planned, but sometimes that's how it goes. I ended up merging 20% of the city footage into this baking piece and both Taya and I are very happy with the results.I hope you enjoy it.

Ms Rogers
I spent the morning with my favorite LA girl Taya (make sure to check out her site and blog) cruising around Manhattan beach for coffee and kicks for Lydia. Taya bought me coffee, but didn't buy me the farking rad Chevy that was parked in front of her house with a next level sticker on the brake light. After coffee we headed upstairs to brainstorm ideas for tomorrows video shoot. I'll keep ya posted...xoxo

Last night my very close friend Shaun got married. He gave me the honor of being a groomsmen. At first, my thoughts were standard, shoot plenty of photos. Then as time ran out and the wedding got days closer, I started to think realistically and having time to bring camera gear and shoot just wasn't going to happen. So... I switched gears and fell back on this new (old) kick I've been on by shooting disposable cameras. The film and lenses are super shitty and most of the photos rarely come out well, but I'd still rather shoot that than a digi point and shoot. All the groomsmen were getting ready at Shaun's house and he had this white wall I wanted to get portraits of all the guys suited up. It reminded me of Quentin Tarantino's film Reservoir Dogs where Mr. White and Mr. Pink and Mr. Blue all wear next level suits. After these photos were taken, the wedding went happened followed by an EPIC dance party. I wish all the best to my good friend Shaun and his beautiful wife Rachel. xo
Station Concert
Whenever I go to my favorite place in California, LA, it's always to see and stay with my friends Robbie, Taya, and Eddie, who are on the next level every way imaginable! It's amazing how close to home it is, yet it's an entirely different world only an hour away. For me, LA is the creative epicenter that I need. Every time I have ever been up there, I have successfully created some sort of photo or video that I am proud of. A few months ago I headed to my favorite place to see some of my favorite idiots. It was a pretty standard day. We hung around in Eddie's garage and talked about weird stuff. Morgan came over so we decided to shoot a skit (below) then we all parted ways for the day.
Robbie had to work (he's a gigolo) and Taya wasn't even with us to start with. She was probably baking (she's a next level baker, her site here) some triple layer cupcakes filled with golden skittles or something. Eddie and his band, Station, had a small show that night at some rad dive bar somewhere up there. I've been wanting to hear his jams for months now so I was psyched to go have a few beers and listen to them melt faces. That night I managed to snap a few photos, but besides that, I'm very psyched to work on a video project with Station in the near future. Also, I'm getting some tracks from Eddie that I will post so you all can hear. xoxo
